Comment: I have not been to the page in awhile... it looks really good. Glad to see that the center is still up and running... making people aware. I totally support what you do. Alan is a great guy... Thanks for answering all my questions when I was in high school and doing a paper on Kent State. That turned out to be an experience that has stuck with me into college and probably will for the rest of my life... I hope to see many more good things coming from the center for many years to come. Good luck.

Comment: I grieve for the loss of innocence during the seige of the campus at Kent State in May of 1970. I was only ten when this happened but feel a sense of loss for all the parents and students. God bless their courage and their strength. As we move on through our lives, we must never forget the events that unfolded. To forget our past is to condemn us to re-live it. God speed all of you.

Comment: I just visited the memorial for the first time recently. It didn't seem sufficient for what happened there. I felt the deceased and the wounded deserved more. Their families lost so much. Hopefully, there will be something else in the future. It has been 35 years so perhaps that is too much to hope for now. The display listing their names was not too clean and difficult to read. However, it meant alot to me to be there. I live in California and it took me a long time to get there.

Comment: I was in high school in Columbus on May 4th, 1970. Just another day, until I got home. The events of this day have been with me my entire life, one of the few things that I will never forget. We named our daughter Alison, and we've visited KSU several times. I hope funding is continued for the May 4th Memorials, this should NEVER be forgotten.

Comment: I saw a program on the May 4th tragedy and came to this site to look up more information about it and I have to say it has touched me. I am a student at Sheffield University in England and we have regular protests and rallies and I just couldnt believe what happened on May 4th. The actions of the National Guard were inexcusable and it is brilliant that this site is making people aware of the tragedy, so that we can remember the victims and can assure that it will never happen again.

Comment: I read Alan Canfora's May 4th, 2004 commentary, and I was truely moved. For those who have not read it, it's located at http://www.alancanfora.com It's disturbing that a man such as Mr.Canfora has had so much success in polluting the minds of the young as well as the minds of the weak with his anti-government agenda. Peace isn't a goal of his at all, yet he wears the mask so convincingly. The world ought not be fooled. Social change is the real message & written into the KM4C 10pt Program.

KM4C REPLY: Obviously, you did not study political science at KSU. Opposing war and government abuse of power, as in 1970 and/or 2005, is not an anti-government agenda. Opposing the cover-up of murder at Kent State in 1970 is not an anti-government agenda. The Kent May 4 Center is a non-profit, tax-exempt, educational organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service of the US government. For your information, our May 4 Movement is much more than any one individual or organization. It is a longlasting movement for truth, freedom and justice. The Kent May 4 Center deserves your appreciation and not your efforts to smear a person or our organization. Too bad this frustrated guy cannot recognize our fine educational movement.

Comment: A wound won't heal if you keep picking the scab. Let it go, and in time, all will be better. Thanks to an organization such as yours, the pain and infection keeps going. Well Done!

KM4C REPLY: Apparently, you did not study history at KSU either. Otherwise you'd agree with the many students who appreciate our organization according to their comments here in our guestbook. As long as many citizens, younger and older, seek factual information about the tragedy at Kent State on May 4, 1970, the Kent May 4 Center will continue to participate in our longstanding May 4 Movement. Certainly the ghosts of old Ohio Governor James A. Rhodes and his killer National Guard commanders agree with conservatives like you, sir. Hopefully, one or more of the 1970 triggermen at Kent State will soon reveal the truth about their commanding officers' order to shoot down unarmed college students in broad daylight. Why not appreciate our Constitutional right of free speech in America which protects citizens who dare to stand up and resist war, injustice and the ongoing cover-up of murder? Long live the Kent May 4 Center and the May 4 Movement for truth, justice and freedom.

Comment: I was there on that day as was my stepmother who was in the middle of the protest. Had my dad not dragged her out kicking and screaming she might have been one of the wounded or dead. I find your site very informative and have steered many others who are totally unaware of what happened on that fateful day. I have even run into adults who grew up in Ohio who had school administrators and teachers who refused to discuss the events leading up to that day or the days events themselves. This is sad. Thank You.

Comment: Truly a very educational site. I was only 14 yrs. old when this American tragedy occurred. Still seems like just yesterday. We should never forget the actions of that day. It is a shame that this could have happened in this country. Hopefully the good people at KM4C can keep this web site up and running for many generations!!!

KM4C REPLY: Our non-profit educational organization, the Kent May 4 Center, continues to work with the families of the 1970 victims, the dedicated students of the May 4 Task Force at KSU and our many supporters across America and world-wide. Please understand we are focused upon the future as well as the past. Although many years have passed, there is reason to believe we are on the verge of great new developments in the very near future. Stay tuned: a major new Hollywood film, new historical film documentaries and new published information will emerge imminently. Hopefully, with massive renewed public pressure, we can finally persuade certain 1970 Ohio National Guard triggermen to come forward and join their voices with ours to reveal the truth about May 4, 1970. Only the truth can free these triggermen from the awful burden of historical guilt forced upon them when their commanding officers ordered them to shoot and kill unarmed students nearly 36 years ago. We are confident we can soon determine exactly which Ohio National Guard officers gave the deadly verbal shoot-to-kill orders at Kent State University. This is our common historical duty and obligation. Stay tuned...

Comment: just checking in. found the site randomly, very good work. i wasnt yet born in 1970, it would, in fact, be 5 more years, but the event had already impacted the rest of my known life. i have been there with my mother, who was in high schol, in Mantua, at the time, and my 2 younger sisters, every year to commemorate, reflect, remember and learn more about what happened that day... those days. thank you for the information/ inspiration. see you in May. Comment: I had always known about the Kent State shooting but never really researched it until now. I'm doing my junior research paper on the song Ohio and its background and this website really answered all my questions and has really helped me out. I am so glad to see that people are still educating others about it. It's truly inspiring and amazing. I think it's great that you keep sharing information because if you just let something like this go, nobody would know about it and nobody would know how brave those students were. Thank you so much for this website, it's really a big help.
